2016 Durham Warriors Survival Challenge

Our fourth annual Durham Warriors Survival Challenge was held from June 24th – 26th 2016 to raise money for disabled military veterans and their families and other non-profits to stay for free at Maine Forest Yurts. The event is a 3 day, Survivor-themed competition where contestants from around the country compete in various outdoor challenges, survive in the Maine woods, hold tribal councils, and vote for one winner.

Six of the competitors in the 2016 challenge included former Survivor contestants Kyle Jason from Survivor: Kaoh Rong, Spencer Bledsoe from Survivor: Cagayan and Survivor: Cambodia, Twila Tanner from Survivor: Vanuatu, Matt Bischoff from Survivor: Caramoa, Kelly Shinn from Survivor: Nicaragua, and Nina Acosta from Survivor: One World.
The event was held at Maine Forest Yurts and was open to the public to watch. Former contestants from Survivor were in the audience, including the first winner of Survivor Richard Hatch from Survivor: Borneo, Zoe Zanidakis from Survivor: Marquesas, Yau-Man Chan from Survivor: Fiji, Denise Martin from Survivor: China, Kathy Sleckman from Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites, Jimmy T from Survivor: Nicaragua, Dr. Jill Behm from Survivor: Nicaragua, Michael Snow from Survivor: Caramoan, Nina Poersch from Survivor: Worlds Apart, and Bob Crowley from Survivor: Gabon.
